Murrumbidgee Local Health District reported eight cases in total, including the Albury figure, with the others occurring in Greater Hume (one), Wagga (two) and Snowy Valleys (one).
Albury Wodonga Health said the Wodonga case, the only additional positive result in its North East catchment, was linked to another known case.
"Yesterday, the AWH Local Public Health Unit conducted 129 COVID-19 tests and 177 vaccinations were administered by the Wodonga vaccination team," the service said on Friday.
The community COVID consult clinic is caring for 33 people, with four COVID-positive patients in hospital, none in intensive care.
Yarrawonga Health reported three new positive cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and 33 current active cases.
The Lakeside testing clinic at Gateway Island, Wodonga, is closed on Friday owing to wet weather.
Albury Wodonga Health said it would reopen on Saturday, weather permitting.
Testing in Wodonga is available at the Smythe St walk-in clinic, which is open from 7.30am to 3.00pm.
The Wodonga vaccination hub has changed its opening hours to 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays. The clinic closes between noon and 12.45pm each day.
Victoria recorded 1362 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths on Friday, as the state's full vaccination mandate kicked in for about a million authorised workers.

Albury recorded three new cases while there was one each in Wodonga and Wangaratta.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District COVID-19 coordinator Emma Field said Albury's outbreak had slowed.
"We've seen the aged care facilities that were affected in the Albury area now taking visitors, which is really, it's quite impressive that's got to this point," she said.
"So we'd really like to congratulate the Albury community and all of those people coming together with all of those strategies."
