The warning follows rising water releases from Lake Hume and recent rain run-off combining to lift the river's height.

The river height at Corowa was 4.63 metres at 3.45pm on Sunday, exceeding 4.60 which is deemed minor flood level.

The weather and SES are expecting the river to peak near 4.90 metres on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Murray River at Albury's Union Bridge stayed under minor flood level, with a mark of 3.77 metres at 3.30pm on Sunday.

Upstream of Lake Hume, there was minor flooding along the Murray River at Jingellic during Friday evening with levels peaking on Saturday morning.

It was a similar story at Culcairn, where the Billabong Creek reached a height estimated to be above eight metres on Saturday morning following a rainy Friday due to a lingering cloud band.

By lunchtime Saturday, the creek's level was waning, the local SES reported.

Greater Hume Council still had a number of its roads closed due to flooding as of Sunday afternoon.

They included the Urana Road between Walbundrie and Rand and the Coppabella bridge.

There were also a series of roads at Walbundrie as well as some at Culcairn, Cookardinia and Jindera shut.

The Tip Road at Holbrook and Coach Road at Morven both re-opened to traffic yesterday after the Jingellic-Holbrook Road had restrictions lifted on Saturday after having been cut since Thursday by floods.

The wet conditions have closed the Ian Geddes bushwalk at Holbrook.

It neighbours Ten Mile Creek which swelled last week due to more than 150 millimetres of rain.
