Ashton Kitson and the 17-year-old confronted the woman as she walked home along Logan Road, North Albury, a year ago.

She had just been to the APCO service station in Mate Street to buy milk and cigarettes.

It was November 15, 2020, about 3am when Kitson, 26, and the boy confronted her on the stretch of Logan Road where Bungambrawatha Creek runs through Fredericks Park.

Kitson appeared for sentence before the District Court in Albury on Monday.

Judge Sean Grant ordered that Kitson serve a non-parole period of two years, which will have him eligible for release on April 11, 2023.

He and the boy pleaded guilty in Albury Local Court two months ago and were each committed for sentence on a charge of robbery in company while armed with a dangerous weapon

The District Court was told in Crown facts how the teenager pulled out a firearm and demanded money from the 23-year-old victim.

She said she didn't have any money. Moments later, a car startled him so he ducked out of sight.

The victim walked off, but immediately saw the pair step out from a grass pathway with their bicycles.

They again demanded cash then seized her backpack.

Kitson the told the teenager: "Why don't you just shoot the c--t? Shoot them now, be done with it."

They rode off and she ran to a friend's home to contact police.

Police went to the youth's home for a bail compliance check, then viewed CCTV footage at the house showing him pulling out the pistol and loading ammunition, in Kitson's presence.
