THE public will have its first chance on Saturday to see Albury's Uiver replica plane with a reconditioned tail.
The Uiver Memorial Community Trust is staging an open day at its airport hangar from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, with guided tours at 11am and 1pm.
"There's been good progress with the restoration and the volunteers are very anxious to show off what they've done," Trust chairman Pieter Mol said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
A feature of Saturday's event will be Beechworth singer Lazy Harry performing his ballad Save The Uiver which he wrote in 2012 at the time there was a campaign to keep the plane in Albury.
There is no need to book for the open day, but attendees have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
