Harris took the game away from the visitors at Lavington Sports Ground as he plundered 53 from just 32 balls during the Panthers' successful run-chase.

There were two sixes and four fours in Harris' destructive innings and he'd put the Panthers on the verge of victory by the time Corey McCarthy had him caught and bowled.

"I try not to have too many dot balls," Harris said.

"I just keep knocking it around and if one's in my zone, I'll have a go at it.

"It came off for once, I got a few just over the fielders and you always need a bit of luck when you're playing T20.

"It was a really good pitch. There was a bit in it with the new ball and talking to a couple of their blokes after the game, they probably missed a trick at the start, bowling spin with the new pill.

"It's a big ground so it's hard to defend in the field at Lavi. There's always runs out there."

Opener Chris Galvin played a more patient but no less important innings, carrying his bat for an unbeaten 46 as the Panthers comfortably chased down Albury's 7/130 with six wickets and 13 balls to spare.

It was the perfect response by Lavington having lost at home to Wodonga earlier in the day.

"Chris batted well in the first game as well," Harris said.

"We changed up the order from the first game to the second game because it wasn't working from the last few games.

"The boys batted well up front and that was Chris' job, to bat through.

"He played some really good shots, smart shots and ran hard between wickets. He took the game on."

Albury, having won the toss, were soon in trouble at 3/16 before Dom Stockdale (42) and Connor Smith (32) breathed some life back into their innings.

But with Ryan Brown (2-9) leading the way with the ball, the Panthers were happy to restrict them to 130.

"Young Jordy Croker, bowling his leggies, bowled real well for his four overs," Harris said.

"He's only 16, it was his first real crack at bowling in A-grade and he got a wicket.

"We were probably a bowler short for the day but to keep them to 130 was a great effort.

After three defeats on the spin, this win leaves the reigning premiers sixth on the ladder heading into 50-over cricket from next weekend.

"It was really important," Harris said.

"We had three or four out from our best team in that second game and a lot of young kids came in.

"Marcus Ried came in for his first game and he got seven not out at the end from the same amount of balls.

"We've got a bit of depth but there's a lot of young kids learning. You can get caught in a trap where they come up, play and don't get a go but I try to give them a crack.

"There's no point doing the same thing when you keep losing."
