Blanalko Pty Ltd built the terminal for parent company SCT Logistics with the facility officially opening in early 2017.

Wodonga Council confirmed this week an intention to sell two blocks in Roche Drive at Logic to Blanalko by private treaty for $5,065,475.

A condition of the sale is the land must be used for railway, freight and or logistics purposes for at least 20 years.

The deal will be signed off in the new year subject to a required public notification of land sale process beginning this week.

SCT'S Wodonga terminal is part of nationwide network of other facilities located in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Parkes and Horsham.

The 23-hectare site at North Barnawartha has access to the mainline rail track and presently includes a 6000 square metre cross dock terminal, and a 5000 square metre container handling area.

Wodonga Council discussed two other pending land sales at Logic at a special meeting on Monday.

The development of a rail terminal at Logic was part of the original concept for the estate when it was established in 2004.

In the terminal's first three years of operation, SCT had a service of four trains per week at 1.5km average length, drawing 104,000 freight tonnes and up to 5000 import-export containers per annum or the equivalent of 3120 B-double trucks.

More than 100 jobs have been created since its inception.

The $20 million plus facility was financially supported by the Victorian Labor government's Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund.

Minister at the time Jaala Pulford said in 2015: "It is absolutely clear that this project would not have proceeded in Victoria, particularly the Wodonga component of the investment, without the assistance of the Labor government."

"By working with local government to secure this investment, the Labor Government is driving job creation and economic growth in regional Victoria."

In October, the council publicly notified its intention to sell 12 hectares of land also in Roche Drive for $3 million or $25 per square metre with the proponent yet to be disclosed.
