Three Wodonga golfers have raised almost $6000 for cancer research.
Low handicappers Justin Gamble, Ben McLeish and Michael Stanton contested Cancer Council's The Longest Day on Tuesday, playing 72 holes in one day.
Twenty-seven holes would be the most many keen golfers would have tackled in a day, while contesting an annual club tournament.
"It's fair to say that we all lost our way at times with some shots resembling weekend hackers, particularly during the third round and early fourth when the conditions were at their hottest," Stanton revealed.
"Ben was the most consistent, he parred the first round for 38 stableford points and, despite a poor second round, came home strong and also won the birdie tally with 10.
