The son of one of rugby league's great modern day characters will speak at an Albury function early next year.
Melbourne Storm's Cooper Johns, whose father Matthew is a premiership player at Newcastle, Australian representative and current media personality, has a similar outgoing nature to his dad.
The 22-year-old will join the Storm's general manager of football Frank Ponissi at Albury Thunder's annual sports night at the Commercial Club on February 9.
Ponissi is regarded as one of the best operators in the NRL with the Storm perennial premiership contenders over the past 15 years.
The NSWRL will also provide a high profile guest.
The Storm and Thunder signed an agreement last month whereby two players from the Group Nine outfit will train with the powerhouse for a fortnight every off-season.
Auction items will also be available on the night.
