Wangaratta is due to host its most family friendly New Year's Eve event, having introduced a new 'VIP Chill Zone' for 12 to 16 year olds.
Mayor Dean Rees said fireworks would occur at 9.20pm and midnight.
"We are thrilled to invite the community to join us for a night of celebrations," he said. "It's a perfect way to catch up with friends and families, enjoy a some food and entertainment."
Entry is free, with residents asked to enter via Evans Street.

All guests aged 18 and over will need show proof of double vaccination to enter.
Free children's activities including laser tag, a giant baller and a giant slide.
Wangaratta musicians Scott and Amanda will perform live music, along with SOS - The Australian ABBA Tribute Show and Bad Ibis.
