Witnesses are being sought to the torching of a car on Albury's Monument Hill early on Friday morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Stoltenberg said police were alerted to the incident on Roper Street about 6 o'clock
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It's a white-coloured Toyota sedan," he said.
"It appears as though it's been stolen from the Crisp Street, Albury, area some time after 8.15pm on Thursday night.
"We're obviously very keen for any information that anyone can supply as to who was responsible for it."
NSW Fire and Rescue's Albury Central station commander Stephen Hayes said only one crew was required to put out the blaze.
"The guys were there for approximately 30 minutes from the time they were assigned to the time they were coming back to the station," he said.
"If it was further into the bush or down the slope a bit it could have caused us a few problems.
"Even though we've had lots of rain, the heat's starting to dry out the grass."
