About 8.10pm on Saturday, police stopped the driver of a Holden Astra sedan travelling north along Kiewa Street.
Police spoke to the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle - a 57-year-old man - before he was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.
The South Albury man was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station, where a subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.275.
He was charged with high-range PCA and his driver's licence was immediately suspended.
The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Albury Local Court on Monday 17 January 2022.
