Cricket NSW and Cricket Victoria made the decision to postpone the 2021-22 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup set for Albury-Wodonga next week due to the increased presence of COVID-19 throughout NSW.
The fact many players, officials and spectators were set to travel from remote Indigenous communities right across the state made it too risky to go ahead.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"While we are bitterly disappointed to postpone this summer's event for a second time, the health and safety of all involved in any Cricket NSW event is our number one priority," Cricket NSW chief executive Lee Germon said.
"With the current challenges presented by COVID, it was agreed that in the best interests of all parties to postpone the event to a more suitable date in the future."
A new date is yet to be confirmed.
