The Ski Club has performed three shows at Lake Mulwala so far this summer, but heavy rain and thunder yesterday meant tonight's event couldn't go ahead with a decision yet to be made on tomorrow's performance.
Head coach Brutis Ryan said Thursday's cancellation was disappointing for the club's youngest performers, but there was still hope for Friday.
"We can only hope for the best, they are late afternoon, evening shows, so hopefully tomorrow they'll go ahead because it's our first night with the fireworks, so that'll be great," he said.
"It's not going to have a huge impact on us, it's mostly for the little guys that have just started with us, it's just kind of disappointing that they don't get to go out in front and perform for people."

Mr Ryan said the shows were well supported and popular among visitors to the region as well as locals.
"We're starting with our junior show where we do a lot of explaining to the crowd how we teach kids from the very beginning," he said.
"We've got a couple of five or six years old who come out very early in that piece and then we come out and we do a full on demonstration show with our big skiers.
"After that we do our big jumps and some different tricks on the wake boards and aerial maneuvers off the ski jump."
Mr Ryan said the show at Lake Mulwala was unique because it was one of the smallest ski show sites in the world.
"I've skied in a lot of places around the world and it's highly renowned," he said.
"The difference with this place is that you sit in the grass two meters from where the boats are going around and it's just a fantastic thing to watch.
"You almost feel like you're part of the show you're that close to it, the boats are roaring, the mounts are that close, and we pack in close to 3000 people on the grass around here."
A cancellation decision for tomorrow's show will be made public on the Mulwala Water Ski Club Facebook page.
If the show is cancelled, Mr Ryan encouraged onlookers to come down to a future show held on Friday and Saturday nights in January at Lake Mulwala.
"Surely the rain's not going to last forever, the suns going to shine again," he said.
"We'd love for the people to get down here and sit on the grass and enjoy a cold beer and have bite to eat and watch the kids go out there and put on a display for them."
