Hewitt navigated his way through to the semi-finals of the under-14 Wimbledon Championships Australian Qualifier at Albury grasscourts on Sunday with two impressive performances.
The 13-year-old saw off Nikolas Baker, 6-2, 6-4, in the quarter-finals just a matter hours after his 6-2, 6-0 victory against Luka Drazic in the round of 16.
Hewitt was pushed more than the score suggested in the quarter-final.
He saved three break points in his second service game of the match to lead 2-1 before he reeled off another three games to make it 5-1.
Baker clawed one break back to get it to 5-2, but Hewitt piled on the pressure to break for a third time and close out the first set 6-2.
The second stanza was much tighter with deuce reached in most games.
Hewitt secured a break to jump to 3-1, but Baker found an immediate response to get to 3-2.
He was unable to consolidate the break as Hewitt moved within two games of victory, but Baker dug deep again to break the number two seed and then held to make it 4-4.
Hewitt held to love to force Baker to serve to stay in it and he was unable to absorb the pressure as the former sealed his place in the final four with a sublime forehand winner down the line.

"I was happy I was able to hang tough in my matches," he said.
"I haven't played on grass before so each match is getting better."
Hewitt was supported by his grandparents Glynn and Cherilyn.
"We've been very impressed with the facilities. It's our first time in Albury and there's a nice feel about it," Cherilyn said.
Hewitt will take on Filip Fantasia in the semi-finals on Monday, with the winner to meet Jake Dembo or Elijah Dikkenberg in the final.
It wasn't to be for Border rising star Charmaine Mutape in the girls Wimbledon qualifier after she fell 6-2, 6-1, to Georgia Campbell in the first round.
Meanwhile, another son of an Australian tennis great, Patrick Fitzgerald, was eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the open men's singles.
The number one seed is the son of John Fitzgerald and stormed into the last eight of the event before he was bundled out by Brendon Lee Moore, 6-3, 6-1.
Fitzgerald fell in the semi-finals of the AMT men's singles at the Victorian Junior Grasscourt Championships in Wodonga last year, but won the doubles and the Albury Easter event with the Border's Jade Culph.
