Immunisation against the virus starts for five to 11 year-olds today across Australia.
That has resulted in a low sensory space being created at the Wodonga centre in the former Coles supermarket building in High Street to accommodate youngsters with autism.
There have also been images of animals and trees posted to brighten the dull decor of the hub and make it more inviting for children.
Meanwhile, COVID cases across North East councils continue to bubble.
In the 24 hours to midday on Sunday there were 121 in Wodonga, 70 in Wangaratta, 51 in Moira, 46 in Indigo, 33 in Alpine, 25 in Benalla and 11 in Towong.
Despite not having the biggest population in the region, Alpine Shire, which is a summer holiday favourite, has the North East's highest COVID infection rate per 100,000 of 1108.2.
Wodonga's rate is 936.2 and Indigo is 862.2.
