Brendon Moore has worked with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Grigor Dimitrov and is passionate as ever about the sport.

The 36-year-old from Lismore saw off Central Coast teenager Nick De Vivo for the second time in the space of a week with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph in the open men's singles at Albury grasscourts on Tuesday.

Moore and De Vivo met in the final of the Goulburn Valley AMT Championships in Shepparton last week.

Morning rain forced the match to be played on synthetic, but it didn't stand between Moore and the title.

"We both kind of knew what to expect going in. Either way it was going to be difficult," Moore said.

"There been a lot of surface changes, but the best thing has been to get through all the matches with all the weather.

"I was able to play some good tennis against quality opponents.

"I was hoping to play on the grass but I think we both were. Nick is very tough on the grass so either way it was going to be a tight match."

Moore is a chance to complete a hat trick of titles at the Victorian Junior Grasscourt Championship, which starts at Wodonga Tennis Centre on Wednesday.

Tournament director Phil Shanahan paid tribute to the organising committee to get the event completed in challenging conditions.

"It seems to be Albury-Wodonga in January. We might have a cyclone next year," he laughed.

"We've had five days over 42, bushfires where we couldn't see the other end of the complex, COVID and now we've been washed out.

"To be able to have two world class centres in Albury and Wodonga and two clubs working hand in hand is pretty awesome. To know we have that number of courts we can call on is huge, you couldn't do that in the city."

Shanahan said there was plenty of positive feedback from the players, with many keen to return next year.

"I think the grass really does attract a lot of people here," he said.

"Most of the kids have never played on it before and they just love it."
