Yesterday 500 cases were recorded in the area.
NSW Health has not provided a breakdown of where within the health district the cases reside.
In Wodonga, 23 new cases were recorded, while 23 were also recorded in Indigo, 61 in Wangaratta, 29 in Alpine, and five in Towong.
IN OTHER NEWS:
In NSW, 25,870 cases were detected by PCR swab in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday.
While 11 people with COVID died in that time.
Seven people who died were aged in their 80s, three people were aged in their 90s, and one person was aged in their 70s.
Of the 11 people who died nine were vaccinated and two were not vaccinated.
In Victoria, 19,491 cases were confirmed by PCR tests, with 18,503 probable cases diagnosed from rapid antigen tests.
