Yesterday the Albury community was told of the perils of bullying with Lifeline and the Albury-Wodonga Regional Suicide Prevention Network setting up stands in QEII Square and more than 80 people marching along Dean Street.
The information sites and walk were part of an anti-bullying event organised by Albury mother Marcia Beyer.
In its second year, it was moved from Hovell Tree Park to QEII Square to bring the message to the heart of the city.
Bella, 12, a niece of Ms Beyer, attended with her friend and fellow Xavier High School student Danielle, 13.
“I’ve seen friends get bullied and I just think ‘why do it’, it’s just bad,” Bella said.
Danielle added: “I’ve seen people being bullied and I try and stand up for them.”
The march, to Macauley Street and back, ended with the release of purple balloons.
