Ryan Summers’ Nissan Navara is most likely a write-off after it crashed to a stop in the muddy waters of House Creek.
He was on his way to work early yesterday when he says a large dog ran out on Melbourne Road.
He was unable to stop after his brakes locked on the slippery grass embankment.
His utility filled with water to the steering wheel and Mr Summers escaped through the window.

Damage to the utility’s electrical systems in the immersion means it is likely a write-off.
Mr Summers called on people to take responsibility for their pets.
“It’s not the poor dog’s fault,” he said.
“I know dogs get scared in bad weather.
“It obviously wasn’t in a secured yard.
“It’s the owners responsibility to take care of their pets and if you can’t take responsibility for them, give them to someone who will.”
Mr Summers, 33, has two dogs and said he would have felt “terrible” if he had hit the animal.
The dog that ran onto the road was not seen after accident but Mr Summers said he hoped it was OK.
Although his car is insured, he said the accident is an inconvenience.
The Wodonga Council fine for stray pets is $183.
In another Wodonga crash yesterday morning, a school bus full of children collided with a car.
The car was trying to turn right into Karalla Court from Brockley Street when the school bus ran into the vehicle behind it, forcing it into the turning car.
No children were injured but the bus driver was taken to hospital for observation.
Sgt Cameron Roberts, of Wodonga highway patrol, said the bus was travelling at low speed and the impact was not severe.
