But council warn it is a work in progress with the light show to be tweaked in the coming week.
The electrical work, combined with up lights under four large trees, are the latest in what will be more than $200,000 worth of new lighting in Woodland Grove.
Wodonga council CBD placemaker David Engwicht said it was all part of the city’s main street facelift.
“The new lights together with the water tower lights will create a fantastic program of mood lighting in Woodland Grove,” he said.
“The works include underground wiring to put new lights in Woodland Grove.
“The new lights include up lights under the four big trees closest to Cafe Grove and the fairy lights will also be improved and lifted higher in the trees.
“It is an extension of the lighting of the water tower, and the new lights will be on the same system so they can all be programmed together.
“The work is again being carried out by Rexel Lighting, who programmed the water tower’s 32 colour-change lights.
“It is experimental at the moment so they flash a lot faster than what they eventually will.”
