Geelong’s stirring premiership win against Collingwood was the most watched program of the year with 57,878 viewers watching the Cats’ steamroll the Magpies in the final quarter on Southern Cross.
Packed To The Rafters on Prime was again the most watched regular with an average audience of 41,273.
Stablemate Downton Abbey ran second with 30,899 just ahead of Underbelly: Razor (30,405).
Prime won the overall ratings in Albury-Wodonga with 34.9 per cent of the market share compared to WIN (27.1) and Southern Cross (18.7).
Last year Prime won 36 of the 40 weeks with WIN taking out three and Southern Cross one.
Prime trumped WIN in the local news battle despite the switch to Canberra this year where Daniel Gibson replaced Helen Ballard as presenter.
Prime pulled an average audience of 19,073 compared with WIN’s 16,576.
Seven News Sunday remained the most watched news bulletin in Albury-Wodonga with 27,569 with Seven also the most watched weeknight bulletin with 21,887 ahead of National Nine News (16,875).
The Block, featuring Wodonga’s Jenna Whitehead and Corowa’s Josh Densten, was a ratings success story for WIN with the announcement of the winner and auction shows attracting 57,311 and 54,544 viewers respectively.
They finished in second and fourth placings as the most watched programs for the year with Underbelly: Razor episode one, also on WIN, finishing third with 56,103.
AFL coverage of the Brownlow medal, the Collingwood and Hawthorn preliminary final and grand final pre-game all featured in the top 10.
The Melbourne Cup, won this year by Dunaden, slipped from the No. 1 watched program last year to sixth this year.
