Akermanis played for the Murray Magpies at Lavington Oval on Saturday night and after the game reported his wedding ring, watch and mobile phone stolen from the changerooms.
But yesterday Akermanis contacted police to tell them he had discovered the ring at the bottom of his bag.
And in more good news for the triple AFL premiership winner, police have recovered his mobile phone.
Insp Matt Tishler, of Albury police, said detectives found the phone at a Holbrook home.
No one has been charged but investigations are continuing.
Murray Magpies president Ted Miller said yesterday he was glad Akermanis had found his wedding ring.
“That’s what he was more concerned about, well his wife was anyway,” Mr Miller said.
He said he did not believe Akermanis had been targeted.
“A few bags had been rifled through, but everyone else had put their stuff in a property bag which all clubs have, which is locked away during games,” he said.
