His new wife is Rina Ambar Dewanti, who teaches sports science at the Indonesian State University.
It is the second marriage for both of them.
Ballard has three children by a previous marriage, with daughter Amelia attending the wedding on June 10.
His new wife has a son by a previous marriage.
Ballard, 44, became a consultant to the Indonesia tennis squad this year.
He has lived in Indonesia for about two years and accompanied Indonesian athletes to the Beijing Olympics last year.
Rina Ambar Dewanti is a chief lecturer of sports science at Jakarta State University.
His wife is a former Indonesian national representative in volleyball and soccer and has just completed a master’s degree in sports science.
The couple have just completed a honeymoon in Bali and Bangkok.
“We plan to continue residing in Jakarta as our work is here,” Ballard said from Jakarta yesterday.
“I am consultant to the Indonesian athlete high performance program.
“I have an active role with Tennis Indonesia as their strength and conditioning consultant.”
Ballard recently returned from China evaluating the Indonesian sprinters at the Asian Grand Prix circuit.
He was an Albury city councillor from 1999 to 2004 and stood as an independent candidate for the NSW state elections in 2003.
Ballard’s sporting career highlights were taking part in the 1988 Seoul Olympics when he and Darren Clarke, Miles Murphy and Mark Garner took sixth place in the 400m relay and in the 1990 Commonwealth Games.
