He's been growing Albion strawberries for more than 30 years and says the climate around Cobram is perfect.
Mr Grillo arrived in Australia from Calabria, Italy, with his family at the age of four.
He bought his farm at Koonoomoo, near Cobram, in 1983 when there was just one gum tree and no water on the property.
Today he and wife, Carmen, grow strawberries from October to June and other fruit and vegetables.
The Grillos sell their produce at regional farmers markets.
He said Albion strawberries were the sweetest tasting available, but the hardest to grow.
KNM Berries and Fruit is part of the Cobram and district Farm Gate Trail that introduces visitors to the tastes, and producers, of the area. See farm gatetrail.com.au.
"There's a huge diversity of produce in this region and the Farm Gate Trail is a great way to learn about it," he said.
