Thurgoona’s Amie Godde, 31, and Wagga’s Katrina Chambers, 33, showed Postcards presenter Shane Crawford around their favourite Albury eateries and shopping destinations yesterday.
But Ms Godde said not everything that had been aired on the renovation series was completely accurate.
“The amount of shopping we’ve done on the show has been absolutely blown out of proportion,” she said.
“We were just there to fit a stereotype.
“There are some episodes we’ve been happy with and moments when we thought ‘that’s not how it happened at all’.”
The mums drastically improved a dilapidated Richmond home during their stint on the television series, which pits couples against each other in a renovation competition.
The hard work is now over for the pair who said they were enjoying their 15 minutes of fame and yesterday were guests on Postcards.
The itinerary they picked to best show off the Border region for the Victorian travel show included Di Billiet Homewares on Nurigong Street, Peards Borella Road Nursery and the adjoining Borellas Cafe.
Their last stop was Zedbar on Dean Street.
“I chose it because it’s a bit like Melbourne in the country,” Ms Godde said.
“I wanted to choose something that was young and where I was happy to go to, something with a little oomph.”
While the home renovations on The Block are complete, the winner of the show will not be decided until August 20.
The houses transformed by the four teams will be auctioned in two weeks’ time, and the sisters will keep any profit.
The couple whose property makes the most over their reserve price wins an additional $100,000, meaning the Border duo could have plenty to splash around.
“We could have zero dollars or we could be in for $300,000 to $400,000,” Ms Godde said.
