Two-time Morris medallist Tim Scott made a one-off return from retirement while the Tigers’ reserves coach Jeremy Masterson tackled teammates and fed the opposition as the pair helped fill Myrtleford’s reserves’ shortage.
While Masterson only swapped sides in the second half, Scott played the entire game for the Saints and proved he hasn’t lost his touch.
But Scott admitted he had lost some of his fitness.
“I think I’ll feel it tomorrow,” Scott said.
“I had a couple of games in Albury’s seconds last year but I hadn’t played for probably five years prior to that.
“It’s sad for the league if Myrtleford can’t get a seconds side together so we were just trying to help out so all the fellows could have a game.
“But it was just good to get out there and have a run as well.”
Masterson thought Scott was nearly Myrtleford’s best.
“I reckon I fed him a bit though,” he joked.
Despite the help, it was a dirty day for the Saints, who went down 43.29 (287) to 0.1 (1).
