With the club unable to select Marcus McMillan, Drew Barnes, Michael Egan, Adam Svarc and Clint Runnalls due to injury or availability, and with Chris Gooley and Brandon Symes in the reserves, Ednie said there was no room for complacency.
“Our depth is better this year and each week spots are up for grabs,” Ednie said.
“We have a few out, some good players, and the ones who have come in will be pretty keen to perform and hold their positions.
“Rovers and Raiders are looking fairly good this year and I think they are still a little underrated.
“We’ll need everyone up and playing well tomorrow.”
Although Ednie has heard “plenty of good things” about the Rovers’ midfield, he plans to back his star-studded runners in a shoot-out.
“We’ll start off that way and see how it goes,” he said.
“Andy Hill, Caruso (Sam) and Buckley (Caolan) and those sort of players must be in pretty good form and it’s always tough at Rovers.”
Hawk coach Matt Allen believes the midfield will decide the outcome.
“That’s where it will be won and lost,” Allen said.
“Both sides have some good players in that part of the ground.
“The competition is still sorting itself out after three rounds and we’ll know a bit more after the weekend.”
Allen has named himself as an emergency and could be a late inclusion if the rain stays away and Rovers are concerned about their opponents’ abundance of height.
