Williams, who finished third in the Bulldogs’ best and fairest this season, yesterday confirmed rumours he would rejoin his boyhood club in the Picola North West league next season.
“That’s what’s going to happen,” Williams said.
“I spoke to six or seven teams around Wangaratta as well but after I spoke to Des (Jerilderie president Des McCrae) everything seemed to fit well and it made the decision fairly easy in the end.
“Jerilderie is my home club and I grew up there and played in the 2003 premiership.”
Williams’ departure adds to the growing list of players to leave John Flower Oval in recent weeks, with Brent Doswell finding a new home at Wagga Tigers and Michael Lamb and Brent Hibberson opting to join former Bulldogs’ coach Jarrod Twitt at Holbrook.
