Others will believe the photographs should be shown despite the controversy linked to the artist, whose photographs were seized in 2008 from a Sydney exhibition.
Three Henson photographs were removed by Albury Council staff from an exhibition at the city’s gallery soon after.
This exhibition will travel to other regional galleries in NSW and Victoria after its visit to Albury and carries a warning it is not recommended for children under 15, who can see the photographs only in the company of an adult.
It includes some of the artist’s most iconic works from the 1980s and 1990s and council staff believe it offers local patrons a better understanding of Henson’s technical and artistic talents.
Henson was never charged with any offence after his photographs were seized or removed from display and his work is perhaps even more sought after.
The warning that accompanies this latest exhibition means individuals can make their own decision as to whether they or their children should view these works.
