No regard for a fallen man

No regard for a fallen man

24 Jun, 2009 01:00 AM
I AM absolutely disgusted to hear that some of the people of Albury couldn’t give a damn about their fellow man.

On Wednesday June 17, an elderly gentleman friend tripped and fell at the exit to one of Albury’s major shopping centres in full view of shoppers.

As he lay on the ground, several people just walked around him, offering no assistance at all.

One person even stepped over him as he lay on the ground.

To those people, your ignorance and lack of assistance could have caused more harmful physical effects — and even cost a life.

I bet if you people were in need of help, you would expect some attention from passersby, the attention that you did not provide to this gentleman.

The person concerned however, does extend his sincere thanks to the kind young lady who did help him up.

She then disappeared into the crowd from which she came before an acknowledgement could be extended.

It is surely an indictment upon society to realise that it says “who cares”.
