Leonard Frauenfelder was “a father-like” figure to Jones, who accessed the child abuse material some time between 2005 and 2008 when they were living at Burrumbuttock.
A court heard yesterday how Frauenfelder had died in 2009 and Jones found the images which had been collated and laminated.
He kept them in a blue folder and hid them in the back of a wardrobe after moving to Wentworth.
But the images were found by a former girlfriend who contacted police. They obtained a warrant and searched his house. They found 19 images in a folder and another separate image. Jones admitted his part in obtaining them.
Jones, 39, of Alexandra Street, Albury, appeared in Albury Local Court yesterday for sentencing on charges of disseminating and producing child pornography and producing, disseminating or possessing it.
Solicitor Tim Hemsley said Jones had a mild intellectual disability and Frauenfelder, who was about 30 years older, had exercised control over him.
Magistrate Tony Murray adjourned sentencing until February 7 for a report on the disability suffered by Jones.
Frauenfelder died on March 25, 2009, and left a house on Howlong Road at Burrumbuttock in trust for Jones, who then moved to Wentworth.
He claimed that when unpacking at his new residence he had found the folder and hidden it.
Jones claimed he had intended to dispose of the material.
Police seized his computer in the raid this year, but no items of interest were found.
“There are only 20 images,” Mr Hemsley said.
He said often in such cases there were thousands of images.
