I NOTICED that Labor has threatened to launch an inquiry into the Peter Slipper and James Ashby saga.

I say go for it.
They might like to inquire into why the government paid James Ashby $50,000 of taxpayers’ money to settle one of the cases against Mr Slipper.
Why did the government feel it needed to use taxpayers’ money to settle the case outside of court?
An inquiry could also look further into the type of crude and disgusting text messages that Mr Slipper was sending out to members of his staff.
If the Labor Party thinks Peter Slipper is such an honourable guy, why doesn’t it appoint him as Speaker again?
And seeing as Labor is obviously in the mood for inquiries, why not launch a judicial inquiry into the AWU scandal Julia Gillard has been mired in.
