With powerful young sculler Kane Saul leading the way, the all-conquering Melbourne club dominated the 147th annual regatta, which attracted 650 competitors and 980 entries.
Regatta co-ordinator Paul Somerville said Saul had an enormous future in the sport.
“Kane won the A and B grade sculls and Victorian Sprint Scull Championship,” Somerville said.
“He’s a man mountain of a bloke with enormous potential.
“I think he’ll row in the President’s Cup in four years’ time.”
Corowa was the best performed local club ahead of Rutherglen after taking out 12 events.
“Rowing Victoria officials were rapt with the regatta,” Somerville said.
“We had 2500 to 3000 people down at the course with races every two minutes.
“It’s been a big weekend.”
