But Saturday’s run was without incident as Finks from Melbourne and Adelaide rode up the Hume Highway to meet northern chapters at the BP Service Station north of Glenrowan.

Police from Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla and other North East stations assisted detectives from the Echo Taskforce, who investigate outlaw bikie gangs, to keep an ever-present eye on the group.

The tattooed army then rode south to party into the night at a Port Melbourne clubhouse, their run slowed by a roadblock outside of Wallan about 6pm where police held registration and breath tests.

Police said yesterday there were no incidents during the run.

The run came amid fears of an escalating bikie war spilling onto the streets between the Hells Angels and the Finks-aligned Bandidos.

Six shots were fired early on Saturday at the Melbourne home of a Red Devils bikie gang member accused of being part of a million-dollar stolen property racket.

No one was injured in the incident, which police responded to at 2.15am.

It’s understood the shots were fired at the home of one of two Pegoraro brothers, who were last week charged with numerous counts of theft and handling stolen goods following police raids.

Ben and Daniel Pegoraro, aged 23 and 27, are members of the Red Devils gang, which police say is a feeder club for Hells Angels.

Both brothers have also been questioned in relation to the ambush and attempted assassination of Bandidos sergeant-at-arms Toby Mitchell, police have said.
