In fact, he’s happy to play anywhere.
Siposs, drafted by the Saints as a forward in 2010, has been thrown to half-back over the pre-season where his booming right foot has been a feature during the NAB Cup.
He has been used in a similar role to that of former Saint Goddard, who signed with Essendon via free agency.
Siposs, who has played just 16 games for the Saints, said he was happy to play anywhere coach Scott Watters put him.
“As long as I can get my name on the field and play regularly footy that’s all that really matters to me at the moment,” Siposs said at Yarrawonga’s J.C. Lowe Oval yesterday.
“I’m still trying to find my feet and get myself in a spot where I can play regular footy.
“Whether that’s up forward, or down back, or on the wing, or in the middle doesn’t really bother me.
“I’m happy to put myself in any spot and challenge myself.
“It all depends on how Scotty wants to structure the team, really.
“I have spent most of my time in the backline over the pre-season and if something comes of that then that’s great.”
Siposs, 20, said the club wasn’t panicking after Saturday’s shock loss to Greater Western Sydney.
The Saints leaked six last-quarter goals before being rolled by the wooden-spoon favourite at Blacktown.
Siposs was joined at Yarrawonga yesterday by a host of teammates — headlined by Justin Koschitzke and Ahmed Saad — for school clinics.
“The NAB Cup series was all right,” Siposs said.
“The boys played some good footy at times.
“We’ve still got guys coming back and getting a full amount of game-time into their bodies.
“The loss was a bit disappointing, in general, but GWS are going to be a pretty good squad.
“We’ll look at it this week and hopefully it can help set us up for round 1 and when we play GWS again in round 3.
“We’re just looking forward to playing the Gold Coast in round 1 and hopefully getting off to a good start.”
Despite being written off in some quarters, Siposs said the Saints were absolutely aiming to play finals this year.
“Everyone’s obviously aiming for a spot in the top eight and that’s something we want to look at,” he said.
“We were extremely close last year.
“I think we lost five games by under two goals.
“If you win those five games then you’re almost finishing in the top four.
“If we can change that around we’re hopeful of making the top eight and challenging this year.
“I still think we’ve got the list to do it.
“There’s young guys coming through and it’s an exciting time for the club.”
