The attacking midfielder suffered a whopping six-centimetre hamstring tear on the eve of Brisbane’s semi-final loss to Sydney FC in January, but is on the mend and aiming to add to her international caps.
Chapman, who scored six goals in 12 games, will head into camp with the Matildas this week hoping to impress new coach Hesterine de Reus before upcoming home friendlies against New Zealand.
The 26-year-old former Albury Hotspurs star, who played in the Roar’s premiership- winning 2012-13 season alongside sister Georgia, said her hamstring was “totally fine”.
“It was by far my best season,” Chapman said yesterday.
Chapman will be at The Scots School Albury from 10am today to address students and host a skills clinic.
It comes before the inaugural Amy Chapman Shield Gala Day on Friday.
The Gala Day will be held at Alexandra Park and involve teams from six schools in the area.
Chapman visited the Hotspurs and St Patrick’s clubs yesterday as part of Football Federation Australia’s illicit drugs in sport education program.
