The SES issued moderate and minor warnings for the King at Docker Road, Ovens, Kiewa and Mitta above Lake Dartmouth.
More rain is expected today with 10-25 millimetres likely on the Mitta above Dartmouth.
The rivers were below minor flood level yesterday but some flooding is likely late today.
The greatest risk is with the King River after 35 millimetres in the Ovens and King catchment areas.
The King River at Docker Road reached the moderate flood level of 3.95 metres. There was minor-to-moderate flooding in the area yesterday.
There also was moderate flooding in lower King River catchment and minor flooding downstream of Wangaratta.
The King River at Cheshunt peaked at 1.75 metres just below the minor flood level of 1.8 metres.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta exceeded the minor flood level of 11.9 metres and peaked at about 12.2 metres yesterday afternoon.
The Kiewa River at Kiewa also passed the minor flood level of 3.3 metres but began dropping again soon after.
Today’s rain — if it occurs — will lift river levels again and they are expected to be at low to moderate flooding at the weekend.
Water was above the minor flood level at Bandiana but the SES expected it to remain below the moderate level. Streams in the area are likely to rise over the weekend.
