But Brear is offering his opinion from a position of strength, aimed at cutting a fair go for fellow and smaller clubs outside Albury-Wodonga who believe they are disadvantaged while grand finals continue to be played at Lavington.
He has a point when he argues attendances might be maintained and the competition strengthened if the league offered other centres the opportunity to improve and present their grounds for the grand final, giving them a home ground advantage to secure a premiership win if in the running.
The Ovens and Murray is a strong competition with a proud history of participation by many outstanding clubs.
However, with the future of country football under a broader spotlight, there must be a continued focus within all leagues on examining where improvements might be made.
Even the smallest clubs should have the opportunity to continue to participate and grow alongside their larger and stronger counterparts.
