The doors of the store closed on Tuesday with only a sign on the door telling customers that it had closed until further notice.
Customers were asked to refer their inquiries to the administrator KPMG but few had been able to get through on the contact number given to get the answers they were seeking.
Last night franchisee Anthony Cowan issued a statement saying he was unaware of the circumstances leading to his store’s sudden closure and he was concerned for both his staff who appear to have lost their jobs and his customers who have been left empty-handed.
KPMG said inquiries into the retail chain’s financial situation were under way, although the stores were unlikely to reopen.
For those involved, it is a difficult time but they will be reliant on KPMG making an early assessment of the situation and determining what can be done to save jobs and recommence trading, or ensuring there is suitable recompense made to both staff and customers.
