Fraser has finished 16th, 8th, 18th and 12th in four of his past five tournaments on the European Tour to climb to 41st position in the Race to Dubai.
He last saluted in the Ballantine’s Championship in 2010 before coming close when he lost a playoff to Danny Willett at the BMW International Open in Cologne in 2012.
“The middle part of the year was pretty disappointing but the past six or seven weeks have been good with a top 10 and a few top 20s,” Fraser said.
“The end of the year is when you want to be playing well.
“Last week I did well in China, next week I’m in Turkey and the following week in Dubai.
“It’s going to be good fun.
“I just want to keep playing well and give myself a chance.
“Hopefully I can take one of them.
“I feel like I’m knocking on the door.”
Although Fraser says he feels as though he’s one of the veterans on the tour at 35, he is confident of making a full recovery from a recent wrist injury to take up the challenge to the world’s best players for several more years.
“I’ll play as long as I can,” he said.
“It can get tough as I have two young children at home who I don’t see a lot of which is frustrating but last year I played 32 events and this year I’m playing 24 or 25.
“I’ll probably cut it back a bit more next year as well.
“I’m lucky to be doing something I love for a living.”
