BOLD colours and a splash of creativity is what the judges will be looking for in the fashion stakes at Albury Race Club’s annual Oaks Day.
Tomorrow’s event, traditionally known as ladies’ day, attracts women from all over the region.
Fashion co-ordinator Sarah Crothers said Oaks Day was all about colour.
“You can’t go wrong with a splash of colour, prints are in as well,” she said. “I believe judges will be looking for creative ways women can make the bold colours pop.”
With about $4000 in prizes, women can line up for Myer’s Lady of the Day, Millinery Award and Marquees’ Selection.
“The marquee selection is something new this year,” Ms Crothers said.
“We will have people from marquees select their top five favourite looks.
“It’s about getting those who are sitting and watching the opportunity to get up and be involved.”
Judges in the Myer Fashions on the Field this year include Myer Albury manager Alvar Poulton, Bendigo Bank’s Lavington branch manager Michelle Ross as well as fashion blogger Candice Naughtin.
Gates open at 11am, with registration from 12.30pm until 1.45pm.
Judging will start at 2pm.
