The father and daughter, who had been travelling south, had recently moved from Queensland to St Kilda in Melbourne.
The girl remains in hospital in a critical condition, while the dad suffered minor injuries.

A green Daewoo travelling north collided with a bridge near Diamond Park about 3.20am.
Sgt Andrew Wilson said the exact circumstances are being determined with two people believed to be travelling in the car.
