The Bureau of Meteorology says a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will bring hot, sunny conditions and northwest-to-westerly winds to the region today.
Winds are expected to fresh and gusty through midday, turning westerly and slowly diminishing in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Country Fire Authority has declared a total fire ban for the Mallee, northern country and Wimmeria regions of Victoria.
