Police say the 24-year-old was “very intoxicated” when he stumbled while walking down Ireland Street about 3am yesterday.
The man, from East Bentleigh in Melbourne’s east, put an arm out to steady himself but instead fell through the window of The Sweet Retreat lolly store, smashing the glass.
Leading Sen-Const Scott Baldock said there were severe lacerations to the man’s arm.
He was taken to Wangaratta hospital for treatment and later flown to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne.
“Only one window was broken but there was a lot of blood left at the scene,” Ldg Sen-Const Baldock said.
