Fevola will play his third season with the Yarrawonga side in the new year and yesterday revealed a long-term desire to coach.
Not only does he think the interleague side would be the perfect place to start, but he also wants to help the O and M prove it is the No.1 league, despite its mixed results in recent seasons.
The interleague match will be played on the Border in May, providing the ideal opportunity for Fevola to draw upon his contacts within the league to get the O and M’s best players to represent the competition and draw a strong crowd.
It seems like a win-win situation should Fevola get the job and the chance to hone his coaching skills.
But obviously he first has to go through any recruitment process the O and M will determine it requires as it appoints a replacement.
No doubt the league would see Fevola’s desired involvement as the means by which it could reignite wider interest in the competition and build upon the game’s audience.
