They propelled themselves through the Albury pool yesterday and only came up for air when they grabbed attention from onlookers.
The dress-up, which was inspired by their favourite television shows, was to celebrate Mackenzie Rayner’s seventh birthday.
Mackenzie’s grandmother, Karen Capper, said she wanted to make them happy.
“It’s just nice to see the kids happy and swimming in a really good environment,” she said.
“It’s beautiful being able to see their smiling faces.”
Ms Capper said even gentlemen were fascinated by the tails.
“It was funny seeing how excited everybody was over them,” she said.
“It helped them socialise in the pool.”
Ms Capper could not have asked for better weather and she said it was great the children had the opportunity to escape into a sea of imagination.
