Albury Rural Fire Services’ Inspector Marg Wehner said they received six calls after lightning strikes swept through the region last night.
At 10pm, Insp Wehner said up to 12 fire trucks with 40 firefighters were trying to contain a 10-hectare fire in a pine plantation at Morven, between Culcairn and Holbrook.
The RFS was still trying to locate other fires related to lightning strike calls.
At Tallandoon South, nine fire trucks were tackling a grass and scrub fire near Yabba Road about 9.30pm after authorities received four Triple-0 calls.
The Country Fire Authority advised just after 10pm there was no threat to communities at that stage and urged residents to monitor conditions.
