The decision throws doubt over whether the Prime7 news bulletin will remain at 6pm or shift to cater for the Melbourne-based Seven news which is due to air from 6pm to 7pm.
Previously Seven news has aired at 6.30pm on the Border.
The move by Seven follows Channel Nine last month switching from a half-hour bulletin to an hour.
That forced the Border edition of WIN News back to 7pm from its previous 6.30pm slot.
Prime7 bosses have not responded to The Border Mail's inquiries this morning.
It is thought unlikely soapie Home and Away will be replaced with Prime7 News.
The difficulty has been created by Seven's decision to axe current affairs show Today Tonight which aired in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane but was not relayed to the Border.
