That was the colour of orange, which could be seen everywhere when Voice for Indi endorsed Cathy McGowan in Indi.
The McGowan campaign and stunning victory has been attributed to a perfect storm of circumstances.
Chiefly, that was a growing dissatisfaction in Liberal incumbent Sophie Mirabella.
At the weekend, Voice for Indi made the decision to return to its roots.
It comes as no surprise that the group won’t endorse a candidate in the coming Victorian election.
For one, no storm clouds seem to be gathering on the North East horizon for the state poll.
Voice for Indi’s decision to still play its role, though, is a win for democracy.
After all, voters’ wish to hold politicians accountable has not changed.
It is indeed a win for the region that Voice for Indi will be there again, making sure the issues that matter are in the forefront of political debate.
