Sonro, which finished fourth in Albury’s City Handicap over the Gold Cup carnival, stormed down the outside to claim victory from Tramuntana and Embolded.

Sonro was equal favourite at $5 with Brian Cox-trained He’s An Angel.

He’s An Angel finished fourth.

Albury trainer Brett Cavanough will ponder the future of last year’s Flat Knacker winner Bossdon City after he finished almost 30 lengths behind in second last.

Cavanough had three runners in the race, with all of them finishing at the tail of the field. Racers N Chasers finished last.
